Happy Tuesday, all!

This week, Koror wanted to give some attention to First Aid, and strike team saw low hanging fruit that was right up our alley! The new DISSECT verb will feel familiar to those of you acquainted with the Necromancers' dissection ritual.

It made sense for everyone to be able to dissect a valid creature(*) and gain insights to first aid, and that's what the verb aims to provide. (*) Valid creatures are living, non-undead that are unskinned and untainted by Necro rituals. All undead and constructs are considered invalid.

The DISSECT verb can be used on freshly killed corpses to gain insights into the creature's anatomy and physiology, which if an appropriate challenge, may reveal a greater understanding of First Aid. A successful dissection prevents further attempts to dissect or skin the creature. Other characters will see you attempt the dissection.
Usage:
DISSECT............Will look for the most recent target you personally killed to dissect.
DISSECT {TARGET}...Attempts to dissect the specified target.

Tidbits to note:
* Necros automatically re-route into their ritual for appropriate checks and messaging.
* Non-necros may use any small bladed weapon since they aren't concerned with the ritual aspect of things. If you have a worn knife, it will be prioritized.
* All skill checks and exp rewards are shared with the existing Necromancers' ritual, except that this only provides first aid experience.
* Dissecting a corpse makes it unsuitable for skinning or rituals. No double dipping, sorry!
* Failure brings a steep RT, but you can make the attempt again until/unless the creature decays.
* Successful dissection RT does reduce with skill. It cannot drop below 3 seconds.

This opens up an in-the-field avenue to learn FA outside of tending wounds or anatomy charts. Because FA isn't normally a combat skill, what you can dissect may vary from what you hunt and require a little trial and error. Necromancer players may be able to give some advice!

*Edited 9/1/2021* - Undead should not have functioned so that it aligns with the Necromancer's existing ritual and was a mixup on my part. The messaging above was revised to clarify that undead are not valid. Additionally, the Necro ritual was updated to have the same RT reduction that DISSECT has when successful.
