>>My only complaint, if I had one, was that it was short!
Yeah, it was only 15 days long. The storyline had a tough time gaining interest. It wasn't until the second time the GameHost's NPCs showed up (in the jungle on the raft) did I see more player activity.
>>I'm still very sad that Vahmyr had to die, though.
Yeah, I'm sad to let him go. He was my second NPC I rolled up (Rawgur was my first). Most my merchants were "conceived" shortly after I cleared training when I started as a GameMaster. And because of that, many of them didn't really vary in personality or services they offered. So I wanted to start fresh for 2012, but I wanted to make sure it was a one-way street.
>>I'm amused by the fact that four GMs worked on it... but you had to get permission from more than that (5) to do it. :)
Oh, it was only me who was active during the storyline. Everyone else was permissions and approvals (I'm lumping QCing into approval, but technically, they are involved in the room building)! That should make you even more amused?
>>Prime and Platinum differences
I was asked what all was different between each instance and what easter eggs might have been missed. First, let me say, I put easter eggs everywhere. If I build an area, chances are I put little hidden things to find. You'll need to LOOK everywhere and try to interact with room objects. Ebon Gate for example had a ton, that I don't think many really found (I should post about it).
The water in the bucket on the Fallen Corsair has some hidden commands you can use on it. The rubble on the Forsaken Isle had a body trapped under it. That body was actually a pirate who was in the jungle the day Jarmonde and Waesta arrived, if anyone explored the jungle to try to find their ship. The peaches, bottles, and rum from the crates leave behind things once they are fully consumed. In the treasure pile at the end, the gold is engraved with two Xs, primitive way to tell how pure it was. The title of the storyline is a zombie reference (Day of the Dead, etc).
One of the big differences between Prime and Platinum was Platinum didn't have any real Luukosian conspiracy going on in the background by players, which in turn changed the climax of the storyline for Prime. For awhile in Prime, several players thought Cidolfhus was working against Vahmyr, when in reality, it was the other way around. In Platinum the mermaid possessed Vahmyr. In both instances, the jewel escaped the isle, which was not something I thought would happen. But in both instances, players gave the jewel up. I thought for sure a Luukosian or evil player would try to keep that! And there were a ton of minor differences that were just character specific things.
All said and done, it was a lot of fun.
