As of a few minutes ago, the first of many Four Winds Isle creatures has been released into the live instances. Those interested may wish to investigate the Monsoon Jungle.
Please note a few important facts:
* This is the very first step, with much more to come
* There isn't any specific timeline, but the forthcoming creatures are already planned out and we do have individuals working on them
* This is the product of literally a decade or more of hard work from a long list of very talented individuals that is just starting to see fruition
* Full credit for the design for these critters goes to GM Thandiwe and GM Oscuro, who both put a lot of time and effort into these concepts over the years
A special heartfelt thank you to GM Contemplar and Dev as a whole.
Enjoy the new hunting, and please let us know if there are any issues!

Love it so far, but enormous mosquitoes are not dropping any loot and are not skinnable. They're fairly tough, can disease you for a good amount and apply a neck wound. Need to offer something.
As I gaze over the horizon, the wind tugs at my cloak and whispers, "Adventure" in my ear. |
A squeaky halfling nearby asks, "Why you playing with orcs heads and troll rearends?!" |

Congratulations to the devs! Much appreciated.
I think the creatures are, at maximum, level 27, as my UAC warrior (level 37) was punching them yesterday and not learning anything.
I agree that the enormous mosquitoes need to be skinnable and/or need to drop something. They're too tough a fight otherwise. And one bit my warrior when he was in full defensive. I didn't really expect creatures at least ten levels my character's junior to be capable of this.
Large ring-tailed lemurs are a problem.
1) They can steal from you. In this, they're rather like higher-level gremlins. Nothing is sacred. They'll steal loot. They'll steal silvers. They even steal chrisms. For a low-level character, the loss of a chrism can be a hefty financial blow...especially if you're not expecting it. And I don't like the possibility that a lemur could steal something rare or unique and could make it disappear.
2) If you are fighting the one who stole from you and another lemur enters the room, you lose any chance of recovering your items. You can kill the thief with one blow after Lemur #2 entered, but that doesn't mean that you'll recover your stuff.
I hope that the lemurs will be leashed a bit. Ideally, I'd like them to stop being pickpockets--few people seem to hunt the nasty little gremlins, after all--but I'd settle for them not stealing chrisms or rare/unique/marked items.
I'm intrigued by the feylings. Are we going to learn more about them? Do they have a backstory? Are they ever going to be able to talk?

I understand the trepidation of having creatures steal stuff from you. However, it may not be obvious (and unlike the gremlins) the stuff they steal is recoverable if you kill the thief and recover the bag it holds. Your stolen items SHOULD all be in there.
