I've just released another Teleologic Sorcery called Sovereign Destiny.

The Elemental infusion of the Pattern of Prophecy, Sovereign Destiny is an ambitious spell which seeks to free the subject's shadow from the Plane of Probability, liberating them from the forces of destiny. While the sorcery is imperfect, as the shadow will eventually reform, the implication of even this mild success is greatly encouraging to the devoted teleologic sorcerer.

The practical implication of the spell is usually limited to a mild sense of disorientation that fades as the shadow gradually reforms. However, the sudden withdrawal from the Plane of Probability is oft devastating to those gifted with foresight.

In practical terms, it's a mild Int/Wis/Disc debuff that has some devastating side effects, mostly to Moon Mages.

Firstly it will end all active predictions, or spells that require the Plane of Probability to work (specifically: enlightened geometry or teleological sorcery spells, plus Seer's Sense).

Secondly it will block the casting of these spells as well as any prediction attempts for the duration.

Thanks go to Armifer for the initial spell concept. Enjoy.

As always, please let me know if you encounter any problems.

Haha you and Armifer are on a roll. Serious kudos, you're starting to make me wish I had trained a Moon Mage :P (if it weren't for being weapons tert, ew.)

You gesture at a wild boar.
Color seeps from the world, leaving the area cloaked in monotone shadow except for a vivid purple glow that lingers around a wild boar as you attempt to free it.
Your sorcery shreds the web of fate that surrounds a wild boar, freeing it of its destiny.
The world rapidly resaturates with color.
Roundtime: 2 sec.

Love the look. I was sad since you mentioned that you were getting a spell to kill shadowlings and I thought this would be it heh. I like it though so far. Ill need to really test it out though to get a good feel of it.

Very neat spell idea. Not sure it's something I'd learn permanently, but I could definitely see using it off of a scroll. And some great RP opportunities if my character runs into someone who casts it on him.

It is.

Like all TS spells the description depends on if you know the spell or not (Like when referencing a spellbook). This is the same way it worked in 3.0

This is the "general" description for what it's worth:

Throughout all the vast libraries kept by the Moon Mage Guild there are only a few archaic mentions of the teleologic sorcery Sovereign Destiny. Most are heavily censored and what remains is wildly contradictory, but invariably they mention "freeing the shadow" and contain an unsettling number of references to Pelag ai Aldam.

And for TV while we're here:

The Tezirah's Veil spell is an exploration in the augmentation of prophetic talent through teleologic sorcery. Despite the name the first known references to the spell are dated centuries after Tezirah's death, a fact which has long cast doubt on the true origin of the sorcery.

Since you're not feeding enough power into the spell pattern to make it coherent, you quickly work your way to the minimum required.
That won't affect your current attunement very much.
Your eyes darken to black as a starless night as you prepare the Sovereign Destiny spell.
>harness 15
You tap into the mana from fifteen of the surrounding streams and attempt to keep it channeling in a stream around you.
Roundtime: 2 sec.
>harness 15
You tap into the mana from fifteen of the surrounding streams and add it to the significant amount already streaming around you.
Roundtime: 2 sec.
>
You sense a tiny amount of mana slip away from you.
>cast shadowling
You gesture at a shadowling.
You contribute your harnessed streams to increase the pattern's potential.
Maybe you shouldn't be casting at a shadowling when you've only just met.
Roundtime: 2 sec.

Try casting it on the MM who cast the shadowling? Might be tricky if that's you.

Wish I had an edit button so I wasnt quad posting here but... does this spell (when the bug is ironed out) only affect Shadowlings? Being that it rips shadows away it sounds like this would have fantastic applications on all Shadow based creatures (like the Tenebraeling and Voidspawn etc). Very niche use in that way but it would certainly add some flavor.

at the very least, i think the spell should also affect those shadow-things on the island <where 100th MM quest is>, and also the critters in that one place where we got to play briefly a short while after the Lyras event - some sort of shadowy place if i recall correctly> - hopefully that can make a return sometime.

Hey! You leave that shadowling alone.

Also that's not how the spell works.

You're thinking too literal. That's not what the spell does. The creatures you mention don't even have prophetic shadows (If anything you could think of them as prophetic shadows that have already been liberated - It's not quite right, but it's close enough) so there's nothing for the spell to find purchase on.
